STEN LEX GRAFFITI & POSTERS
Sten and Lex – this, of course, not the real names of the artists. But they are not chosen by chance. «Sten is based on the word« stencil », and Lex means” law “or” rule “. Consequently, the pair formed the meaning of “rules of screen painting” – explains the artists. Sometimes Sten & Lex painted directly on the walls, and sometimes create a kind of posters, which are then fastened to the surface with glue.

"The technique we use is called “hole school” and consists of stencils with many holes of different sizes that all together provide a highly photographic image. This technique was also often used for printing newspapers in the Sixties and Seventies."
