Listening to the name the first time, you might think of the animated movie with the same name.
Based in Manchester but originally from Wolverhampton, Fantastic Mr Fox alias Steven Gomberts has been producing since the age of 14, gradually taking elements from a variety of genres and adding them to his sound which is just as colourful and quirky. For the February 2010 promo mix for Hyp!Hyp!Hyp! club night the fantastic one made a stunning mix (below) you can download for free.

Since 2009 the fantastic one has released acclaimed wax on both Hemlock and Black Acre, and given fellow dance music re-thinkers Polar Bear, Shitdisco and Untold a decent re-rub. Having caught the attention of tastemakers and the educated mainstream alike, he has laced mixes for Vice Mag, Fader and The Guardian, and counts the likes of The xx, Björk, Mount Kimbie or Martyn among his fans.
