Hidden Orchestra - Electronic Jazz Tour
The latest mix from Hidden Orchestra's Joe Acheson celebrates the release of the Flight EP - starting and finishing with different versions of title track Flight, with the mixtape speeding up throughout from 70bpm to 140bpm.
This feature-length mixtape features an eclectic and intricately-woven selection of music, sound effects, acapellas, interviews, and spoken word.. Hidden Orchestra are touring Europe extensively in February 2012 - Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, France, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, and for the first time Italy and Greece.

Edinburgh-based Hidden Orchestra combine two live drummers, organic samples and dubby basslines to make cinematic, emotive, percussive music. Debut album “Night Walks”, released on Tru Thoughts in September 2010, has been met with critical acclaim (including BBC Radio 1 Introducing’s “Album of the Month” and iDJ’s top albums of 2010; radio play from BBC R3′s Late Junction, Laurent Garnier, FIP, RTS, NME, Radio 1 Prague and many more worldwide) and sparked a genuine and organic buzz among music fans, with a huge demand to experience the music in a live setting. A deluxe vinyl edition of the album was released in January 2011 on cult German label Denovali Records, and is now already on its second pressing.

Their star continue to rise in the intervening year with an ever-growing media and word-of-mouth buzz. Highly in demand as a live act, their touring schedule this year alone has taken in 20 countries as their incredible music has worked its way into hearts and minds the World over. This EP brings eagerly anticipated new material and remixes.
This digital-only release from Tru Thoughts features a new track, Flight, as well as some remixes from the Night Walks album by Floex, Lost Twin, and Maddslinky (and a bonus remix by The Colonel on the iTunes version).
Flight features Fraser Fifield (sax/whistle) and Su-a Lee (cello) reprising their roles from the album, with the addition of harpist Mary Macmaster on clarsach, and on clarinet Tomáš Dvořák (aka Floex, who also created the stunning remix of “Dust” for this release).
