Don Cornelius Hosting Soul Train

Don Cornelius, creator, producer and host of the long-running television dance program Soul Train died today at the age of 75, an apparent suicide.

Soul Train was an absolute who's-who of American soul, funk, R&B and Hip-hop for decades. In the early-and-mid 1970s, it offered an unfiltered glimpse into African-American music and dance culture. For most of its run, the show was hosted by Cornelius and his rich baritone voice. Here's a clip of the one and only time Don got down on the Soul Train dance line that always closed the show - not once, but twice. As the man himself would say, we wish you "love, peace and soul."
