Al Qaeda has captured the town of Radaa, located 100 miles south of the Yemen capital of Sanaa, and is part of a wider string of towns that the militants have taken since the uprising against president Saleh began last year. The opposition has accused the government of allowing the take over so that it can bolster its claim that a strong government is necessary to fight the Islamist.
