French left sends Hollande into presidential battle
The Socialist Party of France, the country's left leaning political party, has selected Francois Hollande as its candidate to run against Nicolas Sarkozy in the race for the French Presidency. Hollande is considered to be a moderate who has said that France needs a balanced budget, yet should remove tax breaks and should stop the overindulgence of the banking and financial sectors.
