Hardline Islamist surge in Egypt polls

The Muslim Brotherhood has said that it will take 40% of the vote in this round of parliamentary elections in Egpyt, while second place was between a liberal, secular party and a hardline Islamic party. The Islamist party, Al-Nur, advocates a strict Salafist agenda, though this is only the first round of voting in a process that will last til March.
