Iran Imposes Death Sentence on U.S. Man Accused of Spying
Iran maintains that Amir Mirzaei Hekmati was working for the CIA has an agent inside Iran, and that his mission was to gain the trust of Iranian authorities and pass on information to them that was both true and false. The Iranian government also claims that it has captured a number of other spies that were tasked with disrupting the March parliamentary elections.
