Muslim Brotherhood claims to have won 40% of vote in first round of Egypt elections

The political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood, the Freedom and Justice Party, has claimed to lead the polls in Cairo, while the rival Egyptian Bloc claimed to have around 25% of the vote. The first parliamentary elections in 30 years have experienced high turnout, in addition to clashes between police and protesters.
