Protesters reject concessions by Egypt's military
The military council currently running Egypt previously offered to hold a referendum on handing power immediately to a civilian government, a proposal that was swiftly opposed by protesters. Parliamentary elections will occur in Egypt in less than a week, while the tentative date for a presidential election is late 2012 to early 2013.
