Syria rejects Arab troop proposal
Syria has said it will stand against any military intervention in the country in response to a proposal by the leader of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, that armed intervention was necessary to stop the bloodshed. The UN estimates that 5,000 people have died since the conflict began and now army defectors are organizing against the government.
