video UN Security Council to consider Palestinian membership
The U.N. has begun the process of formally reviewing the Palestinian request to become an internationally recognized state, which requires nine votes out the fifteen members of the U.N. Security Council. The Palestinians could still receive the nine votes and have their application vetoed by the United States, a threat that the U.S. made last week. Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, received a warm welcome in the West Bank after the proposal was put forward.
