Obama's approval rating falls below 40% due largely to a fall in liberal support
President Obama's approval rating has fallen to its lowest level yet as members of his own base are now unhappy with his job performance. According to a Gallup Poll, only 39% approve of Obama's job as president with his approval falling among both his liberal base and among independents. The Gallup Poll, however, is the only poll to show his approval at below 40% with the Rasmussen Reports poll above 40% and a Real Clear Politics average of polls being above 40% as well. Another factor in the decrease is that American's faith in the economy as declined since the showdown over the debt-ceiling.
