The Senate passed a straightforward bill to finance the government for the next seven weeks, providing much needed funds to the Federal Emergency Disaster Agency that is currently having to deal with effects of a number of natural disasters and is also running short on funds. The Republican controlled House will have to sign of any new bill that keeps the government going after September which will probably occur when the House comes back from its recess this week.
