Senate to vote on FEMA funding as government shutdown looms
The U.S. Senate is attempting to stop a potential government shutdown again this week, as republicans and democrats are battling over $1.6 billion in spending cuts in an overall $1 trillion budget. The spending cuts relate to a program designed to help the energy efficiency of car production and according to democrats if it was removed would cost 10,000 jobs. Meanwhile, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, which is tasked with disaster assistance is running out of money, effecting many Americans who are suffering from a number of natural disasters.
