Wide blame for biggest municipal bankruptcy

Jefferson County, Alabama, has declared the largest ever bankruptcy of a U.S. municipality, with a total debt of $3.14 billion over a sewer system. The company sought bankruptcy protection on Thursday, which could effect the borrowing costs of neighboring counties.
