Wis. GOP holds off Democrats in recall elections

The Wisconsin GOP has held of democrats in a recall election in Wisconsin, after a recall election that sought to unseat a number of GOP senators that had attempted to pass an anti-collective bargaining agreement bill for states unions. The recall election was initiated by the behest of Democrats and both Democrats and Republicans poured millions of dollars into the state as many saw this as a referendum on Republican policy in the state. Many people in Wisconsin were upset at the fact that millions of dollars of special interest money had poured into the state and that many of the candidates were ignoring the issues that were the trigger point for the recall elections.
