China military 'closing key gaps', says Pentagon

According to U.S. Department of Defense Report, China is closing key technological gaps with the United States Military. The report detailed how China has begun a stealth fighter jet program, the J20, and how China has also fielded its first aircraft carrier and was working on developing its own indigenous aircraft carrier. China has also begun to increase its capabilities in both space and cyberspace, creating weapon systems that can shoot down satellites and penetrating a large number of databases abroad. The main impetus for China's Military buildup is the situation with Taiwan and also a new sense of national pride and importance. China maintain that the U.S. report is an exaggeration and that they have every right to build up a modern military as many of the weapon systems they are creating are present in other countries.
