China's microbloggers quadrupled in 2011, report says
Almost half of the 513 million people who utilize the internet in China also use micro-blogging sites, or weibo, and have used the new technology to comment on government corruption and fraud. The government has recently introduced laws to control the content on micro-blogs while also requiring users to register with their actual names.
