U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton visited Uzbekistan and Tajikistan as part of her visit through Africa and Central, improving ties with the two former Soviet Union countries. The two aims of the visits was to thank the countries for their help in Afghanistan and to convince the two authoritarian leaders to improve their human rights records.
