The telecoms minister in Manmohan Singh's government is set to go on trial in India for selling 2G licenses below market value in a scheme that could have cost the Indian government nearly $40 billion in lost revenue. The scandal has brought corruption to the forefront in Indian politics and includes other members of parliament as well as executives in the telecommunications industry.
