Kazakhstan authorities crush any opposition before the January 15th elections, leaving 16 dead and hundreds injured. This is an attempt by Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev to prevent any larger protests from forming before the people feel they can assemble against the government without facing swift and serious consequences.
