Kyrgyz PM poised for presidential victory
The prime minister of Kyrgyzstan, Almazbek Atambayev, is looking to be the next President of Kyrgyzstan, the impoverished central Asian country that is considered to be of significant strategic importance to both Russia and the U.S. The office of president in Kyrgyzstan has seen its power diminished since the April 2010 revolution and now the parliament is considered to be the main decision making body.
