North Korea denies punishing citizens for not mourning enough
The North Korean government has denied rumors published by a South Korean news agency that reports developments in North that citizens of the North were punished due to a lack of proper mourning for the departed North Korean leader, Kim Jong-il. The identified individual from the North reported that sentences of six months in a forced labor camp were handed down to people who did not show the proper level of sadness.
