Kim Jong-il, the leader of North Korea, has made his first visit to Russia since 2002 and is expected to meet with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev while there. The North Korean leader will discuss a new pipeline that is a joint venture between the North Korean Government and the Russian oil company Gazprom, that will go through North Korea and into South Korea. He also plans to visit a dam outside of Vladivostock and to possibly meet with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
