North Koreans will 'die from malnutrition within months'
The death of Kim Jong-il could potentially increase the possibility of starvation in North Korea as the U.S. has delayed a decision on the possibility of more aid for the reclusive state. Estimates maintain that North Korea produces only enough food for ten months and then buys food equivalent to two weeks, leaving a gap of six weeks in the total food that it needs to feed its people.
