Pakistan 'holding peace talks' with Taliban
The government of Pakistan has been holding preliminary peace talks with the Taliban for the last six months, focusing primarily on the South Waziristan area. Thousands of civilians and military personnel have been killed in the years of fighting that have occurred on Afghan-Pakistan border between the two sides with violence continuing in the region up to today.
