U.S. report recommends ending loan guarantees to Israel at end of 2011

A report from the Office of Inspector General for the U.S. Department of State has stipulated that U.S. should end loan guarantees for Israel by the end of 2011. The report outlines how the U.S. embassy in Israel has failed in its P.R. campaign to gain support for the administrations policies and that the embassy spends considerable amounts of its time trying to determine if Israel has lived up to terms of the loan guarantees. Travel for U.S. diplomats is also limited inside of Israel due to the cost of security while traveling inside the west bank and their inability to travel to Gaza due to a state department travel ban.
