German bailout of Greece was legal, court rules
The German High Court ruled on Wednesday that Germany's bailout of Greece was legal but that any future bailouts of other countries have to go through the Bundestag, the German Parliament. The decision is somewhat of a victory for German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who has taken a good amount of criticism in her country for the bailouts, though the new plan does not allow her our a future Chancellor to move quickly if another country is in need.
