Hungary plans changes to controversial legislation
The government of Hungary has said that it will change its recently enacted legislation that had caused the European Commission to threaten to take legal action against Hungary in the European High Court. The main questions being raised about the new laws are that it ultimately undermines the independence of the judiciary, the central bank and some democratic freedoms.
