Merkel and Sarkozy rule out talks on eurobonds
German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy are not including the idea of Eurobonds in their discussions about how to fix the current Euro-zone financial crisis. The controversial idea is opposed by the German government as it believes that the creation of such an instrument would increase Germany's borrowing cost, which is currently the lowest on the continent. The idea is viewed by some as being a solution to current crisis, as it would allow weaker economies that are having issues borrowing on the open market a way to borrow at a lower rate.
